The longest stool with incised geometric decoration.
Longest: 6 1/4 x 36 1/2 x 5 1/8 in.
Note: It is noted in Marc Ginzberg, African Forms, Skira, 2000, pages 16-18, that the three legged stools from this area were used only by men. Stools of this shape were used ritually and in the evenings to smoke and talk.
Wear is consistent with age and use on both with scuffing, minor age cracks and nicks. They are both structurally sound.
