Chinese Export School: Clipper Ship "Commodore T. H. Allen"

Oil on canvas, unsigned, lined.

26 x 34 1/2 in., 30 x 39 in. (frame).

Note: The ship was 2,390 tons, built by T.J. Southard, Richmond, ME in 1884. The largest ship next to Henry B. Hyde and A.G. Ropes.

 

Condition:

Lined. Heavy craquelure with seperation. Scattered inpainting. Large areas of inpainting at the top corners. A repair lower right, inpainted (in the bow of the ship). Surface soiling.
